From the Flat Iron Gallery:
The Flat Iron Gallery, located at 105 So. Division St., Peekskill, N.Y. will have a two-woman summer art exhibit featuring new watercolors by Croton artist, Doreen Pagano Halsall and Cortlandt Manor artist, Wendie Garber, entitled, “Moved By Summer”.
The exhibit will be on display from June 14th-Aug. 26th, 2012. An artist’s reception will be held, Sat., June 16th from 1-5 pm.
Halsall is an art teacher in the Hendrick Hudson School District and former watercolor instructor at the Westchester Art Workshop and Garber is a retired art teacher from the same school district currently spending her time creating new paintings and directing the Flat Iron Gallery in Peekskill.
Halsall and Garber share a special relationship as art teachers who have worked together for many years and as personal friends and artists who have known each other and been active together in the local art community for the past thirty years. Summer is the time that most inspires their artistic explorations. Halsall enjoys painting natural forms like the seashells and beach glass she finds on the beaches of the North Atlantic and Garber is inspired by summer flowers and ocean shores she returns to every year to study.
The Flat Iron Gallery is open Thurs.-Sun. 12-6 pm and by appt. It features contemporary fine art and jewelry by over 100 area artists in its four exhibit rooms. www.flatiron.qpg.com Call director, Wendie Garber for more information. 914-734-1894
