But, Cortlandt officials noticed and when Senator Greg Ball asked municipalities to nominate “women of distrinction” for his Hall of Fame by that name, Cortlandt nominated Guida and Turner.

Both women were honored at last night’s town board meeting. They received proclamations from the Town Board and the state of New York and Ball’s Chief of Staff Jim Coleman and Town Supervisor Linda Puglisi thanked them for their selfless service and dedication.

“This came to me as a complete surprise. You volunteer because you want to do it and you figure no one is paying attention you just do what you love doing,” Guida said at the board meeting.
