Sen. Ball Plans to Open Career Center in Peekskill
The New York State senator announced his plans to open a satellite office that serves as a career services center in the city in early 2012.
As part of his focus on job creation in New York State District 40, Sen. Greg Ball announced plans to open a new office in Peekskill by early 2012. Ball made the announcement during a presentation to the Peekskill Common Council at their work session last night.
The office would be open in conjunction with Rev. Adolphus Lacey of the Mount Olivet Baptist Church. It would serve as a satellite office of Ball’s central office in Brewster and offer career services resources to the unemployed and to small businesses.
The senator said that starting in October, he would open a one-stop shop (for jobs) every Friday in the Brewster office and then open the Peekskill office in January or February.

“We want to help the unemployed and small business owners with things like loans, tax incentives,” Ball said. “And we will also work with elected officials.”
“We’ve had a good relationship with Rev. Lacey for a few years and are hoping to work with him to expand into their space,” Sen. Ball said.

State and federal funding through Ball’s office would go towards administering the center.
