Indian Point, Work Sessions, Cloudy Weather

Here are five things you need to know today, Oct. 15.

1.) Peekskill, Cortlandt Work Sessions
Peekskill Common Council and the Cortlandt town board are holding work sessions tonight. The Common Council’s work session is scheduled to begin 6:30 p.m. inside the Peekskill city hall. Cortlandt town officials are expected to gather inside town hall at 7 p.m.

2.) Hearing Scheduled for Indian Point License Renewal
The Atomic Safety and Licensing Board is holding the evidentiary hearing for the license renewal application of the  Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan, beginning today at the DoubleTree Hotel, at 455 South Broadway in Tarrytown. The session will go on this week through Thursday, before starting up again the weeks of  Oct. 22-24 and Dec. 10-14.

3.) Bottle Cap Jewelry Craft at the Hendrick Hudson Library
The Hendrick Hudson Library kicks off Teen Read Week today with a bottle cap jewelry workshop. The workshop, which begins at 6 p.m. and is for students in grade 6 or higher, will allow participants to create awesome one-of-a-kind pendants, pins, or magnets using bottle caps and discarded books. 4.) Trivia Night at the Peekskill Coffee House
Trivia quiz night a starts today at the Peekskill Coffee House at 6 p.m. The free event will be hosted by Westchester Trivia and prizes will be awarded.

5. Cloudy and Cold Monday Weather
According to the National Weather Sevice, there is a chance of showers on Monday, mainly after 3 p.m. It is expected to be cloudy, with a high near 69.
