County Warrant Squad Arrests Peekskill Crack Dealer in Vegas

William Kirkland, indicted by the County Grand Jury for selling crack, was taken into custody in Las Vegas.

The following information was provided by the Peekskill Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. 

On Aug. 18 William Kirkland, 49, of Las Vegas, Nevada was charged with third degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, a felony, by Peekskill Officer Joe McGann.

Kirkland, who was wanted after having been indicted by a Westchester County Grand Jury for the sale of crack cocaine, was located in Las Vegas, Nevada and taken into custody by members of the Westchester County Warrant Squad.

He was charged by officer McGann upon his appearance in Westchester County Court and is being held at the Westchester County Jail. Kirkland’s arrest stems from a year-long narcotics investigation conducted jointly by the New York State Police, Westchester County Department of Public Safety, and City of Peekskill Police that has resulted in over thirty arrests since June.

Kirkland was arrested in Peekskill on April 8, 2010 for third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class B felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony, according to the Peekskill Daily. Kirkland was a resident of Peekskill at the time.
