Artistic Performance and Remembrance for Sept. 11 Anniversary

Embark|Peekskill brings a weekend full of entertainment to Peekskill; presents a 9/11 Remembrance concert Sunday night.

Embark|Peekskill, a new non-profit coalition for performing artists and companies from the Peekskill-Cortlandt area will host its first Performing Arts Festival this Sept. 10-11.

Art, music, theater, comedy, magic and dance will transform many locations in downtown Peekskill and the riverfront into a show.

On Sunday, Sept. 11, the coalition presents a concert at the riverfront to reflect on the tenth anniversary of Sept. 11. Miles Jay and Michael Harvey will sing a capella. Composer and flautist Brian Taylor will present a preview of his stirring composition “A Prayer for the Living” with vocals, percussion and solo dance by Andrea Elam. He will be joined by Chaka and Daisy Jopling to perform “Orphans,” a song of hope. The concert begins at 6:15 p.m. and  there will be candle lighting at sunset to honor those lost on 9/11 at 7:30 p.m.
